Intrigued with the intricacies of textiles, the tactile richness, the grid of the weave and the integral making of the fabric is inherent in my work. As I continue to explore and develop the creation of textiles as a form of art, I am fascinated by the making of the fabric from weaving painterly tapestries, to machine embroidery using only thread to create fabric, to hand embroidery, as well as felt making. I use machines in an intuitive way, not following rules or designs, to fashion sculptural works and wall installations. I often work with a series of small pieces to create larger works. My fascination with beads has been a lifelong passion. Stringing an unlikely combination of beads from my worldwide collection to produce a simple wearable adornment, continues to be a real delight.

The collection of vintage textiles which I gathered over the years reflects my deep appreciation for the beauty of the textiles.
